So I’ve officially moved into the apartment –
check pictures on Picasa - and met my
roommates. Sebastian is a German guy from 21 and studies Political Science.
Pierre, the French part of our little household, is also a marketing student at
ESC Rennes – my college -. Last but not least, there’s Laura, the Spanish girl
(23). She’s an amazing chef and is kind of the mother in our 85m² house.
Last week at the ESC Rennes School Of Business (Ecole
superieure de Commerce), we had an introduction week. And also everyone could
put his or her stuff in order. Paperwork for the college here, in Belgium, apartment,
social insurance, bank account, mobile phone (in case of emergency: +33 (0) 787 19 62 16
). And as you all know how the first week of school is, we went for drinks in
the famous ‘Rue de la Soif’ (Street of the thirsty) –which you could compare to
Oude Markt Leuven, but Leuven is way bigger (and better haha). I already met tons of new people from all over the world (yay, more FB-friends!) and will probably meet even more! Some nationalities: Canada, Poland, Germany, France, Spain, Argentina (vamos!), Korea, Egypt, Belgium (german part, yes sir), The Netherlands, Italy, Iceland, Russia, etc. etc. Makes me feel like I’m on AFS again!
I made my final choices for the courses, that
started this week. This week the lessons officially started. The system is a
bit different than in Belgium. Here the schedules change every week. For
example this week I have classes on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday
(fuck). But next week only from Wednesday-Saturday. And the week after that changes
again. I, normally, won’t have much classes in by the end of October –
beginning of November… Some classes are really interesting, although I haven’t
had them all yet, while others don’t seem interesting at all, but we’ll see
what the next few weeks will bring!
After the visit to Saint-Malo (check for Blog-update) on Friday, this weekend Valentin and his girlfriend, madame Kellogs, came to visit me and we visited the city of Rennes -see link for the pictures-as real tourists, with the map and a tour. That was really nice as I hadn’t really seen the city yet.
Yesterday was the first real party of the
academic year here. The so-called Twin Party. Me and my Canadian buddy Chris
decided to dress up Horror and here’s the result! It was an awesome night and I hope more of these are going to come up soon! Check Facebook and Picasa for more pictures!
